We are seeking an experience cook to work at one of our larger, long-serving harvest jobs. Our harvest season generally commences mid-late October and concludes at the beginning of December.

The position would involve cooking dinners for approximately 30 people, six days a week. Flexibility around dinner numbers each night is essential as numbers may vary day-to-day.

The facilities are made up of renovated shearing quarter rooms, a toilet and laundry block, communal dining room and a larger than average sized kitchen. Kitchen utilities will be supplied, including 5 fridges, a cool room and large oven.

We are a friendly team who all enjoy heading away for our harvest season, so have found that previous cooks have really enjoyed being a part of our team. Our team is made up of people as young as 16 to 55, so we believe the position would suit someone who can socialise with a diverse group of people.

The position will involve but not be limited to:

• Preparing dinners each night
• Groceries runs into Moree every few days. Fuel will be reimbursed for all trips associated with ensuring your position meets these requirements. If a company vehicle is available at the time you require to drive into town, the vehicle will be provided
• Record keeping of meals prepared each night
• Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic. In saying this, your job is not to clean up after people. Our staff are aware they are required to clean their own dishes

Essential requirements:

• Flexibility with the number of meals cooked each night
• Our meals require to be predominantly healthy. Our teams require the stamina to complete their full harvest period so eating healthy meals rather than fried food each night is a requirement
• Commitment and availability to work for the entire harvest period
